I qualified from the University of Salford with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2004. After which I started my career where I gained extensive experience in Outpatients, Respiratory, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Neuro Rehabilitation, Spinal Injuries and Community based Physiotherapy. For the last 7 years I have been a static senior member of the Musculoskeletal Outpatients service where I have gained a significant amount of experience in the management of the of the musculoskeletal patient including spinal, upper limb, lower limb, as well as those with multi-pathologies, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, rheumatological conditions and those with more complex needs. I also have extensive knowledge in the field of Occupational Health and regularly carry out work based advice and reccommendations with returning to work after peiods off work. I am able to give specific advice to execute a successful return to work and to support the needs of the employee as well as the employer. I have covered a number of clinics including those in the acute setting such as in Accident and Emergency departments, trauma clinics and within the acute knee screening service. I have run a number of different classes including those for the lower limb, spinal, upper limb as well as hydrotherapy. I have been AACP accredited in Acupuncture since 2006 and regularly use it in my clinics and as a treatment modality. I am also able to independently prescribe exercise therapy - a BSc degree in Applied Sport Science has assisted in my Physiotherapy skills within this area. I was Head of Department at the Manipal Hospital, Goa, an associated hospital of The Manipal Healthcare Systems, India , until September 2013. The Physiotherapy Department was setup by me in April 2003 .I have had the opportunity to help & treat patients with varying problems in the fields of orthopaedics, neurology, general medicine, cardio-thoracic surgery, general surgery, sports medicine, paediatrics and cancer patients both at the outpatient as well as in-patient levels. In 2006, I took up the role of team physiotherapist to the Goa State Football Team and the Under 21 INDIA Football team for the 1st Lusofonia Games held in Macau. In 2010- 2011, I took up locum posts in Bahrain and helped design and set up the Physiotherapy Department at the newly opened Royal Bahrain Hospital. I was involved in the setting up process right from its inception, to its successful running. I completed my Bachelors in Physiotherapy( B.P.T) from Kasturba Medical College under MAHE( Manipal Academy Of Higher Education) University which is a deemed university .I completed my 6 month internship in march 2003 and started my clinic at the Manipal -Goa hospital in April 2003. I have also done a 6 month long course in Yoga Therapy which is primarily patient related and attended various C.M.E. programs on topics like sensory integration, physiotherapy in sports injuries, mobilisation techniques for the spine and peripheral joints. I am licensed to practice in the UK and Kingdom of Bahrain as well. I firmly believe in being PROACTIVE rather than REACTIVE. If we can prevent injuries from happening and promote preventive health care, we will be able to help everyone on a larger scale. Keeping in mind the above objective, I have been involved in creating awareness for various targeted audiences, corporate entities, hospitality industry and to the general public through newspaper articles, television and cable networks and radio. I have developed a fitness package with the sole aim of promoting a PROACTIVE approach towards optimum physical and mental health. In today's busy times when everybody lives a robotic life we need to stop and look at ourselves for a while. The body needs care just like any machine to perform in an optimum manner. You don’t need to repair it only when damaged.... why not keep it charged, ready to go at all times. I am trained in and practice Dry Needling as well as Matwork Pilates through the APPI.
